How To Stay Productive After A Long Weekend

The accessibility to mobile networks makes it almost impossible to disconnect.  During down time, most people find themselves checking their e-mail, playing a quick round of their favorite game or updating a status. While this may seem like you are constructively utilizing your time, not much productivity comes out of this.

Here at PMBC Group, we have been inspired by Fast Company’s article and came up with a list of our own.

  • Take a short walk — Go for a walk to get some exercise. Get outside and enjoy the scenery.  Find a spot to sit and smell the roses.

  • Set daily goals — Write a few short term goals and do your best to accomplish them within the day.  If the goals require more time, then make an effort to plan for these goals.  Decide is necessary for each goal.

  • Spend some time alone and just breathe — Have a moment to yourself and allow your mind to relax.  Breathe and stretch to release some tension.

  • Clear off your desk – Take a few minutes to clean your desk.  Remove any items that are not needed or that you may find negative.

  • Make a list of things that make you smile — Remind yourself of simple pleasures

  • Call a friend or family member that you have not spoken to in a while — Catch up on things that are going on in your lives.

  • Stop procrastinating — Start on the project that you have been putting off.  Whether that means starting the book that you have been eyeing or getting a head start on writing a proposal.

  • Focus — Do your best to block out distractions and complete your daily tasks.

Make today a more productive day by trying some of these tips.

Uber Cuts Deals to Lower the Cost of Cars

Thanksgiving is a holiday not only for people to eat delicious food but also for many Americans, it’s a time to drink while enjoying the company around you. However, as our society relies on the majority of people to drive to get from point A to point B, mobile apps offering services like Uber are crucial for safe driving.

The demand for Uber is growing and they are now working on getting more drivers on the roads by cutting deals with auto manufacturers and financing providers to lower the cost of car ownership for specifically, Uber drivers! The plan is to start this process with six of its fastest growing markets.

Those markets include New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, Dallas, and San Francisco. These easy financing opportunities will be available to those who already drive for the company, as well as drivers who might have been approved but don’t currently own their own cars.  This will help Uber to add more drivers while also maintaining a standard level of vehicle quality.

Hopefully, adding more drivers will reduce the rates, especially during holiday season when the rates sometimes double because of the lack of drivers to compensate this high demand.

Here at PMBC Group, a Los Angeles Technology PR Firm, we are looking forward to seeing more Uber drivers on the streets to help all those celebrating the holidays get home in a safe and economic manner.

BlogTalk Radio Interviews Tooshlights CEO and Founder Allen Klevens

Tooshlights is generating a lot of buzz as it gradually revolutionizes and simplifies everyone’s bathroom experience. While many may consider public restrooms as an uncomfortable topic to discuss, it is still an issue that affects many people all around the world.

Cheryl Smith from BlogTalk Radio recently interviewed Tooshlights’ CEO and Founder Allen Klevens discussing how the Tooshlights concept will essentially help make her life easier. Smith shares that one of the most awkward things she endures when using a public restroom is peaking in between cracks to see if the stall is unoccupied or not.

Thanks to Tooshlights, people can now prevent running into these embarrassing situations in public bathrooms. Klevens says, “Tooshlights has been created for both men and women’s public restrooms, to assist individuals to “know where to go”.” The LED lighting system immediately tells patrons if a stall is either occupied or even under construction depending on the color of the light.

With privacy becoming more difficult to attain in these places, 93% of people face the same issue when using public bathrooms. People don’t know whether the stall is available or not which leads to longer, frustrating wait lines.

People can also expect Tooshlights to personalize its bathroom lights in various venues. The creativity of Tooshlights is something patrons will need to anticipate as it creates customized bathroom lights for nightclubs, football stadiums, schools and anywhere there are public restrooms.

Here at PMBC Group, a Los Angeles Technology PR Firm, we are looking forward to seeing more of Tooshlights in additional public restrooms across the nation.

Play-I’s Toy Robots Teach Children Programming Skills

It might be difficult for the older generations to be able to keep up with the current technology updates, but the future seems bright for the younger generations.

Co-founders of Play-I, Saurabh Gupta, a former head of consumer payments at Google, and Mikal Greaves, a former engineer at Apple, designed two robots, Bo and Yana, to teach kids basic coding and programming concepts and languages from an early age through interaction and play.

The two robots look and act like toys, but the robots’ intelligence goes far beyond that. Both Bo and Yana are teaching machines, guiding kids through coding basics disguised as storytelling, music and make-believe. Children simply choreograph a sequence of actions via tablet or puppeteering, and the robots perform them.

Gupta explains that kids have a very hard time handling abstract sequences but if you re frame those lines of code into something that children easily grasp, like telling Bo to play a song, turn his head or blink his eye, programming almost becomes second nature. Play-I is building the backbone of a skill set for children who may eventually have to learn these concepts while in school.

Here at PMBC Group, a Los Angeles Technology PR Firm, we are eager to share  recently developed and innovative products that could help shape the future.

Do you find these toys useful for future generations?
