OUYA “Sold Out” on Amazon on Day One

“And so the revolution begins,” is one of the very first  messages consumers see when they open their newly purchased OUYA game console. A few short hours after going on sale in U.S, Canada and the UK, the Android operating game system was sold out on Amazon, but still available in other retail stores.

The concept behind this system is to provide tech and video game fanatics with an open gaming console that permits anyone to develop or hack as they see fit. Also marketed strongly is the ability to let consumers try every game for free before deciding whether to purchase the full version. This system leaves users feeling as if they’ve just experienced a fancy, classic arcade system, combined with modern day technology. It allows users to access all of their favorite apps on the big screen. This is far different from traditional game consoles and all for a price tag of $99.

Here at PMBC Group, a Los Angeles Technology PR Firm, seeing new, innovative technology be such a big hit on its first day of sales is very exciting and promising for future entrepreneurs in such a competitive market. We look forward to the “next big thing.”

What are your expectations for the OUYA game console?

With many gamers highly anticipating the upcoming release of Xbox 1 and Playstation 4, E3 is expected to be one of the hottest events of the summer. Downtown LA will be filled with gaming companies displaying some of the most desired trailers and playtime clips on the show floor: Dead Rising 3, Assassins Creed 4, and Disney are some notable mentions to keep an eye out for.

This Thursday at LA Live’s Lucky Strike, gamers and friends will be able to catch up and socialize over drinks. Any E3 badge holders will get in free by just flaunting their badges. Individuals without an E3 badge need to register $10 by RSVP. This is a party you won’t want to miss.
