2011- AOL purchased The Huffington Post for $315 million.

1994 – Whitney Houston wins 8 awards at the 21st American Music Awards.

1987– Madonna’s “Open Your Heart” single goes #1.

1985Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York” becomes the official anthem of New York City

1979 Pink Floyd premiered their live version of “The Wall” in Los Angeles

1964The Beatles land at New York’s JFK airport, for 1st U.S. tour

1958Dodgers officially become the Los Angeles Dodgers, Inc.

1940Walt Disney’s 2nd feature –length movie, “Pinocchio” premieres in NYC

1915 – The first wireless message was sent from a moving train to a station.
