Ben Affleck Set to Be New Batman in “Man of Steel” Sequel

The official announcement zoomed through the Internet faster than the black-caped superhero streaming through Gotham city’s skyline, Ben Affleck is set to take on the role as Batman in the Warner Bros’ sequel to “Man of Steel,” expected to hit box offices during the summer of 2015.

Although there is no set name for the movie, it is apparent that director Zack Snyder was looking for a superstar with superhero experience to play alongside Henry Cavill (Clark Kent). Affleck brings onset experience as a superhero from his 2003 performance in Marvel’s Daredevil. However, because of his debatable reviews from Daredevil, it has left some critics and fans ambivalent about Affleck being a hit or miss in his upcoming performance.

Despite this fact, let’s take into consideration two important facts: Affleck is a stellar and illustrious actor, however, it is very difficult to live up to the expectations of Batman, as he is admired far beyond most other superheroes. This is an unfair benchmark for any one individual to live up too, but this is why it might just be a win-win situation for Affleck. Doubted, a mediocre performance would be expected and if proving a great performance, he will be praised highly as a true hero.

With that being known, we at PMBC Group, a Los Angeles Entertainment PR firm, are highly anticipating Affleck’s debut as Batman and are looking forward to the on-scene collaboration of two renowned superheroes.

LinkedIn and Lee Daniels’ “The Butler” Link Up

From a small-time social network to a global online database for business professionals,  LinkedIn  lands its first movie role. Officially announced yesterday, the company will have a promotional partnership with The Weinstein Company’s upcoming film “The Butler,” this according to Mashable’s Sean Fitz-Gerald.

“The Weinstein Company is committed to executing innovative and efficient tactics to market our films, and teaming with LinkedIn to highlight the inspiring story in Lee Daniels’ The Butler was a perfect fit,” said Bladimiar Norman, Weinstein’s senior vice president of marketing. “We’re thrilled to be LinkedIn’s partner on their first major film promotion.”

For those who may not know, “The Butler,” which is inspired by Wil Haygood’s 2008 Washington Post article “A Butler Well served by this Election,” takes movie-goers on an emotional adventure as told through White House butler Cecil Gaines (Forest Whitaker), who served seven presidential administrations from the 1950s to 1980s.

A fictional story, combined with historical events and figures, along with an all-star cast, The Butler presents an array of powerful scenes that streamline an unprecedented look into the life of an African Butler who served and lived in a world of politicians during the 1960s civil rights movement, leaving your imagination pondered about a behind-the-scenes hero.

Here at PMBC Group, a Los Angeles PR Firm, witnessing LinkedIn’s collaboration with The Weinstein Company to raise awareness about “The Butler,” a movie which exhibits part of our country’s history, is a film we support in a movement towards a world of equality.

Mike and Sully at the Palm of your Hand

Monster University dominated the box office this past weekend, bringing in an impressive $82 million. The opening weekend success almost tops the charts as Pixar’s second-highest opening movie, right behind Toy Story 3 ($110 million). Luckily for fans, the fun doesn’t stop at the theatres. Disney released a new mobile app for iOS and Android, giving individuals the chance to take Mike, Sully and Squishy home with them.

The app comes with two mini games, both taking place at Monsters University. In Catch Archie, the first mini game, the object is to chase down the rival school Fear Tech’s Scare Pig, which was stolen by Sully but lost in a scuffle. The second mini game, Toxicity Challenge, the users objective is to  help Mike advert and dodge bright pink stinging glow urchins widely scattered across the screen.

At PMBC Group, a Los Angeles Technology PR Firm, witnessing the success of Pixar’s prequel to Monster Inc. evolve into an app, allowing all fans to play and see their favorite characters away from the big screen, is a true example of what the future holds for cinema and technology. Now we wait to see what’s ahead.
