Graph Bar Makes Facebook Debut

“Out with the old and in with the new.” As of today, Facebook will be replacing its traditional search bar with Graph Search, a new and much simpler search engine that allows users to get full optimization for their searches.

Graph Search allows folks to explore connections based off of extensive information, enabling users to discover new friends from the widest to most narrow searches, such as someone being a “fan of How I Met Your Mother who lives in California,” to “individuals who attend New York University, love the Notebook and Shop at H&M” or even by simply looking at photos.

Privacy is not a concern users will have to worry about, as the only information offered in Graph Search is what users make available to the public. Therefore, if you have specific info set to private, online meddlers will not have access or the ability to find you in their search.

Graph Search only works on the Web version of Facebook, but will also be available on mobile apps too. You’ll know when these changes have applied to your account as a big, white bar at the top of your screen will appear.

Here at PMBC Group, a Los Angeles Technology PR Firm, we are enthusiastic and optimistic about the opportunity Graph Search will present in making it easier to connect with others globally.

‘Photos of You’ Goes Public

At PMBC Group, Los Angeles social media PR firm, we love how social media takes networking to a whole new level. With the weekend coming up, we can’t wait to capture some fun moments with Instagram. Their latest announcement ‘Photos of You’, where you can tag your friends in addition to using the “@” symbol, is now going public, as of last Thursday. The video they have promoting their latest feature shows a heart-warming, candid side to the whole social media upgrade. Take a look!

This announcement comes after the entire app claimed their photos to be going public. Many users became wary that if they did not make their profiles ‘private’ they would lose all rights over their photos. However, this tagging feature allows users to ‘show’ and ‘hide’ photos that are tagged of them, bringing back an aspect of privacy.

Do you tag your friends on Instgram?
