PMBC Group‘s client Scambook, the leading online complaint resolution website, spoke with American Banker‘s Brian Browdie regarding the ongoing global cyber attack hits banks everywhere. Flooding the online servers with more data they can handle, they have been disrupting online service.
Therefore, Scambook is recommending that everyone allow for more time regarding online banking transactions. There has been no evidence that users’ accounts are in any danger, but just in case, consumers should know that some of the largest financial firms being hit include JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo, and American Express. Scambook also suggests that customers “change their passwords every three months, check account activity daily, sign up to be alerted by email or text message of withdrawals and transfers, and bank only from a private computer that has the latest security software installed.”
These cyber attacks have been claimed by the al-Qassam Cyber Fighters, “hacktivists” who have announced the reasoning behind the continuing attacks are in response to version of a trailer for an anti-Muslim film not all being removed from YouTube. To read the entire article click HERE.
