Holiday Cards Take A New Spin With Social Media Tools

Staying on top of everything for the holiday season is always a challenge, but at least this year your holiday cards can be a bit more attention grabbing with a touch of social media. This year, A family photo slipped into a holiday card is just not enough to set you apart from the rest of cards sent by family and friends. Rather platforms Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram and Youtube can help you to create something completely new and innovative this year.

Facebook: Post your Christmas card to your Facebook timeline by simply uploading your family pictures with a simple, “season greetings! From the Smiths.” It’s a quick way to give something special without having to pay a cent, but warning, if doing something funny this is public for all your Facebook friends and family.

Pinterest: Instead of choosing one picture, choose as many as you want. Start by creating a board that includes several of your favorite family photos and add anything else regarding the holiday season. The pins can range from your favorite holiday recipes to decorations. It’s the kind of card you wish you could have sent out years ago, truly sharing the holiday spirit.

Instagram: Editing is made easy with Instagram. Simply, upload from your smartphone’s camera roll or even email yourself pictures from your digital camera and edit them with the provided filters. To make it even more festive, download apps like Instaqoute for IOS and Android to add “season’s greetings” directly onto your photos.

Youtube: To step even further out of the box, a YouTube video can really capture the full holiday experience. With basic video editing software such as iMovie, anybody can edit a short video that will be enjoyable to watch over and over again for years to come.

Here at PMBC Group, a Los Angeles Technology PR Firm, we’re passionate about being involved in the tech industry and we’re always searching for the next best option for social media’s creative uses.

Super Bowl XLVII Ads

PMBC Group is counting down the days until Super Bowl XLVII and we are especially looking forward to this year’s advertisements. According to Business Insider, companies are dishing out more than four million dollars for 30-second time-slots that will reach an audience of 111 million people.

With the Super Bowl just four days away, many companies have released teasers to maximize their ad spending and our excitement. This year, several companies are gaining viewer attention by asking consumers, like you, to submit videos or vote on our favorite commercial endings.

Audi took to YouTube to ask users to vote on one of three possible versions of their ‘Prom’ commercial.

Coca-Cola has ditched the polar bears this year for a gamified approach, asking fans to choose their favorite Super Bowl ad ending.

Doritos Crash the Super Bowl campaign had people submit their own Doritos advertisement and then asked Facebook fans to vote on their favorite.

Social Media: The Year for Videos

As we embark in the midst of January, it’s never too late to further investigate another  social media trend for 2013, the intensification of video usage, aka “The Year of Video.” Mentioned previously, the conjunction between visual and audio will inevitably become the must-have technology trend for businesses.

Social Media, PMBC Group

Los Angeles Technology PR Firm, PMBC Group, is eager to witness the evolution of combined visual and audio tactics this year. Forrester released a study suggesting that 90% of the online population will regularly watch video by 2017.  A statistic of that nature only suggests that, in means of advertising and communications, it’s absolutely crucial to set your business aside from the mundane by creating original, creative and innovative entities.

There’s still hope to stay ahead of the wave by starting to learn about video production, editing, and video marketing as there’s a definite return on these investments in the near future.

How will you be utilizing this trend?
